BEGINNER JAPANESE

JAPANESE 1

Coverage:
Reading and writing Hiragana and Katakana
Basic Japanese greetings, grammar, and conversation
Mastery of at least 15 basic Kanji characters

*Same lesson coverage as the HAPON 10 class offered by the Department during regular semesters in the University.

JAPANESE 2

Coverage:
Describing things, places, events, person, experiences
Expressing opinions, reasons
Asking permission, suggestions
Mastery of at least 30 Kanji characters

Requirement: Must have taken Japanese Module 1 or Hapon 10 or at least 30 hours of formal education in the language and mastery of hiragana and katakana characters.
*Same lesson coverage as the HAPON 11 class offered by the department during regular semesters in the university.

Extramural courses are NON-CREDIT courses. A certificate of completion is issued to those who successfully passed the requirements of the classes.
